This week's tutorial is the start of a composition of several plants which will grow slowly over the next few weeks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn this tutorial, I introduce you to my new little swatch idea, which I hope you will love, basically we gather our colour mixes on small bits of paper and hang them on a nappy pin. It's cute. It's also super useful because you can keep a recipe card of mixes for each plant. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis beautiful Mocha Rose is one of my most treasured roses in the garden; the colours are almost antique, like the Roses have been dipped in tea. The structure is truly beautiful, but it is quite an intense flower to paint.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn this project, we use a beautiful magenta to create our soft pinks; we cover our usual techniques of wet-on-wet, but I also show you how to methodically work across a piece. I have left a little bit of room in the study for reflected colour, ready for when we add all remaining pieces. This is one in a series of projects which show you how you can organically create soft and interesting compositions.
