Each of these Achenes or seeds is attached to a hair-like parachute, the Pappus, a short, fine stem or beak topped with smaller fine hairs. These delivery structures enable wind dispersal of the seeds over long distances.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSteeped in mythology of wish-making, time telling, and sending messages of love or faithfulness, these beautiful structures are a challenge to illustrate. So, I am sharing one way to capture their delicate nature.
