This week’s project is part two of the Hippeastrum papilio, Butterfly Amaryllis. These flowers are wonderful with streaks of deep red fading towards the edges. The contrast of the red and cream against green makes them pop from the page. We get the best from our size 4 brush, which will help us create detail and texture in the patterning and gentle tones to give dimension. We work freestyle without masking fluid and come back to the leaves behind the flowers to add a deeper tone and drama.
