Hello, lovely painting people.
This week's tutorial is the third Tulip for my Tulip circle design. Each Tulip can be painted entirely independently if you would prefer not to paint the full design.
This Tulip is an exercise in sculpting light, it is also a great way to practice your fine lines for the very faint and delicate veining on each petal.
I have kept the colours a little bit softer for this study because I wanted to make it a softer tulip alongside the two stronger tulips, but you can make some stronger if you want to.
In this tutorial, I show you how to mix the unusual shadow colours and how to move around the flower without overworking it. The final part of this tutorial will be to pull the three images together in a strong design, so hopefully next time you come to this project, you will see it in full completion.
Don't forget that you can paint all three of these tulips life-size. And individually or create your own design, using similar flowers from your own garden, window box or flower market.
Wishing you peace and tulips always
