Anemone Composition with Leaves & Bud - Preview

Hello, lovely painters, this week we talk about composition and how to take a painting from just a simple one-off study and turn it into a painting.

This tutorial covers some of the techniques I use when picture making. I also talk about how I try to achieve some depth in my paintings through changing colour and tone.

This tutorial should help you bring some of your past studies out of the drawer and onto the painting table. Taking another look at some simple studies and turning them into a picture will be a wonderful challenge.

So, you see, you can bring paintings up-to-date and revisit your compositions, another reason to keep your works safe in an acid-free folder.

I've added a purple anemone to the red anemone that we painted some years ago. I love the idea of bringing the painting back to life and adding just a little bit more fluff and joy.
