The tutorial I am sharing with you this week is the beautiful and enigmatic freesia. A stunning and fragrant flower in a beautiful sweet pale lilac colourway.
This lesson is all about the softest of glazing and layering soft colours and shade washes, used to create delicate changes in tone and detail. Also, I cover the ever-important matching of edges, and adding warm or cool shadows.
I have added a quick drawing lesson for this flower, just in case you can work from life.
I also make some little mistakes, and show you how I wiggle out of them. Knowing how to amend or correct your painting can be very useful, let me make the mistakes and put them right, so you don’t have to.
This is one more page that you can do to create a study page for your practice folder. You will then have all you need when you are ready to work from life.
Peace, sunshine and flowers always,
Billy x
