Have a sneaky peek at our latest tutorial

This week's project is the beautiful Solomon’s seal (Polygonatum Multiflorum), a beautiful plant with the most wonderful arch of blue-green leaves and tiny white flowers that hang down. This is a wonderful plant; when the light shines through the leaves, you get this beautiful, hot bright green. This is a plant I've been meaning to paint with you for quite some time. I will be returning to this painting to add something seated below it, so if you wish to do the same, hang on to this painting.

This is a wonderful project if you want to get to grips with your green mixes. We will be using a very simple selection of paints and creating many shades of green, jumping the lights, lifting the light, and working around the light. If the entire plant feels overwhelming, then just paint a couple of the leaves to practise. Any leaf practise is good for you and will help you overcome any fear of mixing green. Ready? Let's go!

Wishing you fresh greens in all you do.

Peace always, Billy x
