Dandelion Leaves & Seed Buds - Preview

Hello lovely painters, this week we continue with the Dandelion, adding leaves and spent flowers. The tips I have shared in this project can easily be adapted to other wild weeds and could be added to your sketchbook. I always add thoughts and observations and colour swatches to embellish the pages, but these also serve as an aide-mémoire for all the details I will need when it comes to painting the final piece.

It’s summer here in the UK, so I appreciate not all of you will be able to gather weeds to paint, but with these ideas you will be ready for when summertime arrives.

Painting from life has its difficulties, but once you start weed hunting and painting their portraits, there will be no stopping you. Weeds are just another beautiful gift from nature.
