Rose 'Crazy For You' - Preview

In this tutorial we look carefully at the process of painting one petal with a complicated variegated pattern.

The petal is quite a sweet study on its own and I hope you enjoy it, if you do then why not fill a whole page with these charming little artworks of nature?

Then following on from the single petal study, we go on to paint the fine stamen of the rose. The fine filaments are always challenging and in this lesson we start with the stamen, then I show you how I build the petals around and finish the flower but the main focus here is on the centre.

Sometimes you just have to go for the detail.
