Black, White & Red Rose Illustration - Preview

This tutorial is about play, I have been inspired to use both white paint and graphite and colour to create an illustration of a red rose that is transitioning to sepia. I have deliberately played with both smooth finishes and stylized pencilwork.

Don't be afraid to try this, there is a lot to be gained and learned by trying new approaches. Sometimes a whole new artistic stream can be ignited.

Drying times are essential with all I have shown here, maybe have it on the go along side another piece that needs regular rest and drying time.
