On this tutorial we with return to the beautiful Blue Hyacinth as an open flower. I have jumped ahead and completed some of the flowers in advance, in order to make the tutorial a more comfortable length to watch. There is a lot of repetition for the head of this flower, and each tiny flower along the stem, although unique, will need a similar process.
New to this picture and study, is the addition of some coloured pencil, I have used it because this particular piece of paper was misbehaving a little bit, but also because the colour pencil has given the flowers are little bit more intensity. It's great to try mixed media from time to time.
We will return at a later date to complete the design with some new ideas for portraying the bulb and roots. I hope you can find time to try just a small part of this flower as the colours are wonderful.
Wishing you blue skies and blue flowers,
Billy x
