Hello, lovely, perfect painters, this week we are looking at the amazing Passiflora caerulea or Passion flower. This wonderful climbing plant weaves its way through my garden, bringing its beauty and fascinating structure to compliment the back of the flower beds.
This complicated and yet astounding bloom is a fiddly one to paint, but a good challenge. I have painted it just a handful of times, as even though I love it, it does take patience and perseverance to complete.
I have shown how I paint it without masking fluid, but if you prefer to use it, then do. I would use a polishing stone to smooth the paper after removing the masking fluid, as the detail is so small.
This is a great project for those wanting to perfect their observation skills and get used to working on small areas. The final flower will be worth the effort and may even start a new passion for you.
Peace, sunshine, and gentle rain.
