Thank You Card - Preview

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This little tutorial is just for fun and might be a lovely project to make and paint with family or a friend over the festive period.

We are making a thank you gift which is a beautiful handmade envelope, in which we place a hand decorated, thank you card and perhaps some small paintings that you have made throughout the year.

I'm using nearly all of my creative tools on this project, we are using the Deckle Ruler, our gold paints, and fine drawing pens.

I've painted this quite quickly, not really going into the detail that we normally do, just to give you an excuse to just get the paints out and enjoy yourself. You can go into as much detail as you like, and you can add as many extra gifts to the envelope as you wish.

It's an excuse to have some fun. Why not play around and see if you can make, maybe, a larger envelope and add bigger pictures or a smaller envelope and just add some nice tiny little studies that you want to give away? The decisions are all yours.

I must finish by adding a huge thank you to my amazing team at the Billy Showell School of Botanical Art, none of this could be done without them, and they work so hard to make the school run smoothly, to keep the tutorials coming to you twice a month throughout the year. Behind the scenes, a lot of hard work is done by some very lovely people, and I love my team.
