Iris 'Philippa Hobart' - Preview

Hello perfect painters, we are returning to my Iris page with the beautiful Iris 'Philippa Hobart'. 

This beautiful frilly Iris has the most wonderful array of soft purples sometimes pink, sometimes warmer, but always very gentle. Allow yourself plenty of time for all the little details.

You don't have to place the Iris where I have placed it, enjoy setting them up in a composition that you like, or maybe just paint them as single studies. There is a lot to learn and a lot to perfect but always a lot of joy.

I have kept the stem particularly short on this as the reference picture is not precise enough to follow below the flower. Instead, we will be adding the stems and leaves later on a separate project to allow us plenty of thinking time when it comes to thinking out the rest of the composition.

I'm hoping you will love these beautiful colour mixes and this fabulous flower, enough to keep you running back to your painting tables.
