Summer Snowflake and Sandstone - Preview

This week's project is using coloured pencil on polyester drafting film. It's a different technique and materials to our usual choices and one that I've been playing with in the  studio. I get very excited to share a process that I think is fun and rewarding to do.

Obviously if you can't afford the materials or don't have access to them, you can just enjoy watching this one and maybe come to it at a later date, or if you fancy these as subjects, you could paint these two pieces in watercolour and see if you can come up with the colours and process.

Finding out about new ways to illustrate botanical subjects or come to think of it any subject, is always an adventure and you never know what you can do till you try. I am not a colour pencil aficionado, but if you start with me, we can learn together and discover skills as we go along.

This is very much how I started learning watercolour with trial and error and a little bit of fun and hopefully a few eureka moments along the way!

Peace, sunshine and flowers, Billy xx
