Yellow Rose - Preview

Finally, in the UK, we are approaching the rose season! Please may I have two months of May and two of June every year, it's not too much to ask!

This week we are adding the big yellow rose to the centre of our yellow composition, and I am hoping you will love this tutorial. When the final washes go over the rose it blooms into life.

On this subject, we learn about controlling the washes, mixing the subtle shades and gentle layering and softening to achieve gentle colour changes on a smooth petal. If you love the subject, do give it a go, even if you are just at the start of your watercolour adventure you will learn lots along the way. I am hoping you find time for this, the most gentle of blooms.
