Nasturtium Study Page - Preview

Hello lovely fellow painters, this week's tutorial is a fiery nasturtium flower, actual size, and a quick sketch for composition plus a very quick bud study.

Here, I talk about allowing space for other studies and how to manoeuvre your studies around the space of the page.

We talk about how to keep the colours fresh and bright to help mimic the glorious bright colours of nature, and also how to keep the light before gently adding soft glazes of hot colour washes.

This is a wonderful trailing plant that offers you the opportunity to make some lovely compositions, so do try out some different versions.

We will be adding some leaves and an enlarged study of the flower on the side, and later in the year some cross-sections to add more information to the page. Leave space but enjoy this flower's beautiful intense colours.
