Hello, lovely fellow painters, this is the tutorial for the leaves to go with the beautiful large yellow rose.
I photographed the leaves separately and have placed them beneath the Rose to give a lovely arrangement to the centre of the painting.
In this tutorial, I show you how to paint the leaves, one in crisp detail and one in softer detail, together with some foreshortened leaves and a couple of little raindrops to finish off.
This is a tutorial that requires a little bit more painting practice but as always if you fancy having a go just try one of the leaves and see how you get on.
This time of the year in the UK the roses are in full bloom, so it's nice to be in sync with nature with the delivery of this tutorial. This leaf tutorial would be helpful for any rose paintings you fancy doing over the next few weeks, or whenever your roses are in bloom.
For lighter greens, just add more Phthalocyanine Blue and Lemon Yellow, and for deeper, darker leaves, go with my lovely strong dark, green mix and conclude the detail by adding a little Indigo to your green.
As with all my tutorials, there are nice little tips along the way, so even if you don't have time to paint, why not watch it through and see what nuggets of information you can gather.
As always peace, love, sunshine and gentle rain.
