Black Grapes - Preview

This week's project is the final element of the grape study, the grapes! In this tutorial I show you how to layer gentle dark washes to establish the shape, light and shade in the grape bunch.

Then, how to gently build all those wonderful little shadows and textures and jewel colours. We use a little bit of white body colour at the end, just for fun.

This project is great for those wishing to perfect their dry brushing ability, as well as learning how to create beautiful lights and darks on very small areas.

I really had fun with this project and although it looks a little bit daunting, I think it's a great project to dip in and out of.

Maybe just draw a little bit of it and have a go.
